Carbon Fiber Piano Tuning Lever

The Carbon Fiber Tuning is the highest quality piano tuning hammer on the market. With close to zero flex throughout the length of the tuning hammer, the tool allows for unequaled feel of the tuning pin, making your tuning more stable and accurate. With the lever being so rigid, there is no guesswork as to where the pin is in the block.

The tuning hammer will fit all Schaff 5, 10 or 15 degree heads, allowing you to use all of your existing heads and tips (tuning tips can be Schaff, Hale or Watanabe).

There is a choice of two handles: the new, ergonomic pear shape (2-1/2" length), or the traditional straight style (4" length). The wood handle is crafted from hand-turned cocobolo wood.

There are two options for the length of the carbon fiber shaft: 6" or 8" (for overall hammer length, make sure to add the length of the wood handle to the 6" or 8"). As well, there is an optional 2" Carbon Fiber Extension available if needed (for certain jumpy-pin pianos or really tight pin blocks. With extension hammers, if you pull them out to the longer length, they became so springy that they are hard to control. With the carbon fiber, there is no loss in control because there is no springiness in the longer length. Having extra torque when needed can be quite helpful.

Because of its stiffness, the hammer transmits every nuance of what the pin is doing. You will find micro adjustments much easier to make, and be better able to get the pins to feel more stable and "at rest."

One advantage of using carbon fiber is how light weight the hammer is. As you make hammer moves one way and the other, you don't have as much inertial mass to change direction. This really adds up, in the shoulder, after a few hundred pins. Also changing from pin to pin is so easy and the feel is so balanced.
